Six Degrees Albany is a vibrant, multi-service hospitality venue combining bar, restaurant, and accommodation in the heart of Albany. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Restaurant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our restaurant and bar. This is a full-time, permanent position suited to an experienced hospitality professional who can lead a team, uphold exceptional service standards, and drive operational excellence.

Position Classification:  Restaurant or Café Manager (ANZSCO 141111) 

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent 

Remuneration: Competitive salary commensurate with experience, meeting or exceeding the applicable Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT). Salary range available upon request. 


Key Responsibilities

In accordance with the duties of a Restaurant or Café Manager (ANZSCO 141111), the primary responsibilities of this role include:

  • Planning and organising the daily operations of the restaurant and bar to ensure efficient, compliant, and profitable service delivery.
  • Setting and monitoring service standards for food, beverage, and customer experience to ensure consistent quality and presentation.
  • Recruiting, training, and supervising front-of-house staff; conducting regular performance reviews in collaboration with the HR Manager.
  • Ensuring full compliance with all relevant legislation, including liquor licensing requirements, food safety regulations, and workplace health and safety obligations.
  • Managing guest feedback, reservations, and complaint resolution in a professional and outcome-focused manner.
  • Coordinating with the Head Chef and kitchen team on menu planning, daily specials, and service flow.
  • Overseeing stock control in conjunction with the Procurement team.
  • Monitoring revenue, cost controls, and budgetary targets.
  • Supporting venue marketing initiatives, events, and promotional campaigns.
  • Assisting with group events, functions, and community engagement activities.
  • Promoting a positive, professional, and motivated workplace culture aligned with Aspire Hospitality Group values.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum 2–3 years’ proven experience as a Restaurant Manager or in a comparable senior hospitality management role.
  • Formal qualifications in hospitality management (Certificate IV or Diploma level or above) – highly desirable.
  • Approved Manager Card and current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification – this is a must!
  • Demonstrated experience in staff leadership, team development, and performance management.
  • Sound knowledge of inventory management and cost control practices.
  • Working knowledge of liquor licensing legislation, food safety regulations, and OH&S obligations.
  • Proficiency with POS systems, reservation software, and standard business reporting tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and evenings, as operational requirements dictate.

  • This position may be eligible for sponsorship under the 407 Training Visa or the 482 Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) Visa – Medium-Term Stream – for suitably qualified international candidates.
